Alright, so we're in Greece, and so far it's way hotter than expected. We had quite the adventure getting here; who knew it could be so difficult for three naive Canadian girls to travel from the unfamiliar Belfast airport? We arrived at the Belfast Airport 30 minutes later than we were supposed to only to find out that we were actually supposed to be flying from the international airport in Aldergrove... meaning we had to place our lives and the likelihood of our vacation into the hands of a rushed Irish taxi driver. 30 Pounds (60 dollars) later, we arrived at the right airport, only to be put through search after search... shoes off, everything out of our bags...ugh. After finally boarding and taking off, we experienced a bout of turbulence that for a second had us questioning our fate. We arrived on the island of Crete at 10 pm Greece time and finally settled into our Hotel at about midnight.

Holy Lord, the hotel. A blog in itself.

This vacation is designed for young Europeans to take a load off and party hard in a place where the streets have no (English) names and the alcohol has no limit. We arrived to a cute little hotel with a multicolored bar and a brightly illuminated swimming pool... and music set at a volume to which our ears weren't previously accustomed. We browsed the lobby and noticed pictures of people partying in ways we weren't expecting... and then got a little freaked out. All of the workers at our hotel are no older than thirty and all get paid to take overeager vacationers on Bar Crawls. Hoot.

ANYWAYS. Last night at about 2am we found a little diner down some dark strip and ate chicken pittas and the best fries I've ever tasted (even beating out McDonalds). We came back to the hotel and Veronica chatted with our Greek hotel hostess 'Mike' until the wee hours of the morning... a little worried about that one.

AND!! We discovered that we can take a Ferry to the island of Santorini, which is the place where 'Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants' was filmed. And we can ride a donkey to the top of the city. Dream come true. We're also going to rent quads to take us all over the city.

Crap...one minute left... gotta go. Later!
